Hello! I'm

Karla!

I am fascinated by the intelligence of our bodies and the natural world around us, and I have always found interest in the sciences, health, and, of course, wellness.

Your body has an innate intelligence to heal and balance itself.  However, when factors such as stress, diet, illness and other pathogenic factors affect it, sometimes it needs assistance in restoring that balance.  Acupuncture and herbal therapy are powerful tools used to redirect, disperse and nourish the body, mind and spirit.  On top of that, acupuncture addresses symptoms of disease and illness and tackles the underlying root cause impacting your body.

My mission is to empower others, like you, with natural solutions for wellness so you can look and feel your best.

I treat adults, children, teens, and senior adults each and every day who continue to receive great results based on their current needs.

I come to you as a board-certified Acupuncture Physician and hold a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine from NCCAOM, and I am recognized as an herbalist.  I also have a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine from Florida College of Integrative Medicine, specializing in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I am passionate about helping my clients and look forward to providing you with the tools to empower you on your journey to

dynamic health!

Specialties

Pain Relief

pain.png

Whether your discomfort comes from stress, inflammation, or even an injury, we're able to use a variety of our modalities to alleviate...

√ Back pain

√ Neck pain

√ Knee pain

√ Sprains

√ Pain from trauma and accidents

Acupuncture stimulates the release of neurotransmitters that relieve discomfort and pain by increasing circulation to the diseased area in order to relax the body, whether it is a muscle, bone, or even an organ.  This, along with the correct lifestyle, allows your body to begin to heal itself to the best of its ability.

There are many pain conditions that acupuncture can be effective in relieving such as injuries from car accidents, sports, sprains, or as a result of the aging process.   In addition, due to the current opiate use crisis, acupuncture has become more well-known and utilized for pain relief.

Women's Health

The traditional medicine of China is based on regulating the energy of our body with the environment in which we live.

With that said, the world around us is always changing, and so are our bodies.  As women, we experience change throughout our lives with menarche, pregnancy, birth and menopause. Constant change is normal. Yet constant change day in and day out can make it difficult for our bodies to maintain balance.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are both effective and gentle in assisting the body, mind, and spirit to regain balance and harmony in order to maintain normal functions.

Fertility issues are addressed with acupuncture and herbs as well, increasing overall chances of natural pregnancy, successful IVF, and IUI procedures.

Acupuncture and herbal therapy are effective in relieving  common symptoms in the following areas:

√ PMS

√ Irregular or Heavy Bleeding

√ Pain

√ Night Sweating.

√ Fatigue

√ Fibroids

√ Infertility

√ Perimenopause

√ Amenorrhea

Ovarian cysts can also be treated with proper herbal therapy and acupuncture.  With acupuncture therapy, you will experience more balance, relaxation, improved mood, energy, and digestion.

Digestion

Common disorders relating to digestion include:

√ Nausea

√ Diarrhea

√ Constipation

√ IBS

√ Loss of appetite

√ Excessive appetite

√ Heartburn

√ Reflux

√ Burping

√ Leaky gut syndrome

The digestive system is a reflection to how we process our external environment on every level. Do you find life hard to digest?  Your digestive system is responsible for taking in and absorbing nutrients that will feed our entire system, mind, body and soul. Without the foundation of a properly nourished body we cannot begin to find the strength to keep up with the stressors of life.

Digestive disorders are all too common today. They can stem from an improper diet, emotional issues, and stress to name a few. These respond well to acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. If one’s digestive system is so weak that herbal treatments are not tolerated, a course of gentle acupuncture treatments may be used to gradually strengthen the ability to handle foods and herbs. By taking in the proper nutrition we are able to nourish our bodies, finding increased energy and relief from illness and disease.

Depression, Anxiety, Stress & Fatigue

Traditional Chinese Medicine has always recognized the strong connection between the body and the spirit, along with emotions and the mind. They are intertwined and feed off of each other.  No matter how hard we try,  they cannot be separated. We all have experienced how emotions affect our physical body. A common and well-known example is getting stomach pains and/or cramps when feeling extreme stress, or breaking out into a sweat and feeling your heart race when feeling nervous. Not only do we know that emotions can have an effect on the body, but it is important to remember that the state of the physical body can affect our emotional health. The spirit becomes unhappy and restless in an ill body.  Traditional Chinese Medicine, including acupuncture and herbs, is a very effective treatment for emotional disorders.

Andrea J.

Karla provided me with all the help and guidance I needed to get through my battle with Plantar Fasciitis without surgery or steroids.  By exploring the whole being, and not just my feet, she discovered needs I didn’t know I had.  Through a combination of several different types of treatment, ranging from acupuncture and magnet treatments to herbal supplements and more, Karla was able to bring me relief in a way I didn’t know was possible. During the process she was discovered and addressed other problems I had that I wasn’t aware of.

Karla’s approach is professional, supportive, and realistic.  She provides complete care, which includes recommendations for home care and herbal supplements if necessary.  She understands that treatments must be livable, and that each patient has a different lifestyle to accommodate. Her home care recommendations are realistic; I was able to stick with them for the suggested amount of time.  I appreciate her professionalism and unique talents, and highly recommend that anyone visit her before exploring invasive or chemical remedies.
